Woody & Paul + Gooseking 3000
Event on facebook
For the better part of two decades, the musical journey of Woody & Paul has been a testament to their commitment to forging a path that remains distinct from the often ubiquitous indie sound. Their artistic ethos is uncompromising and boundary-pushing, as they steadfastly adhere to their own musical ideals, resulting in a unique fusion of indie, country, and Americana.
Since their inception in 2005, Woody & Paul have shared the stage, supporting renowned artists like Mark Lanegan and Steve Earle. With their latest album, “Let it Shine,” Woody & Paul offer a collection of ten fresh and enthralling compositions. This body of work artfully bridges the past and the future, effortlessly shifting between soul-stirring lyrics and uplifting emotions, all while inviting profound introspection. After almost two decades of collaborative songwriting, performing, and harmonizing together, these two innate musicians continue to chart unexpected paths within the familiar sounds that have defined their artistic journey.
Can a man, paradoxically, master the finer points of bubble tea while living the clumsy life of a stagehand? Also, how long can a person suffer chronic back pain? Gooseking 3000, the moniker of Ernst-Jan van Door (Mozes and the Firstborn, Mark Lada’s Golden Arches), never went looking for the answers to those questions. He IS the answer. The singing guitarist (or guitar-playing singer) churn out lo-fi and sad bedroom-(indie)pop songs about the important things in life: back pain, noisy scooters and of course, that sweet, sweet nostalgia.
This concert is organized by Rotown and V11 and has standing room only.
