Cash Savage and the Last Drinks
With a song titled Fun In The Sun you initially think: “Revels, sun, sea, beach and cocktails”. Once you’re confronted with those first dirgeful organ sounds of Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, the realization creeps in that this bunch doesn’t exactly view existence through rosy sunglasses. But oof.. in terms of pure venom and unsettling atmospheres, few can match this Australian unit, according to The Guardian “one of the most powerful bands in the country”.
The repertoire of Cash Savage and the Last Drinks acts as a lightning rod for political and personal turmoil: a gripping mix of post-punk, garage, folk noir and dark blues. Bands that come with a warning label are always worth checking out. Fun fact, by the way: Cash’s uncle is Conway Savage, is a Bad Seed manning the keys for one Nick Cave.
