Vrooom Presents: Europalia Romania

Teaming up with Vrooom, we are pleased to host our first ever collaborative evening in the belly of the boat, during which we present a Romania music special: Europalia Romania. The exciting bill includes a fine selection of players from Romania’s alternative music scene:

Raze de Soare are a duo from Bucharest’s Future Nuggets label. Scouting and promoting proto-manele music, the sounds you’d hear at 80s/90s Romanian weddings, Future Nuggets pay homage to tradition through sound. Raze de Soare add bass, lush synth melodies and chilled psychedelic ‘80s sound to the mix.

DJ as well as journalist, Dragoş Rusu has cruised the local music scene for over a decade, promoting Romanian artists and music culture across seas as the co-founder and editor-in-chief of online music platform The Attic Magazine. Rusu’s DJ sets know no boundaries, he can be spotted playing textural Techno or Acid House as well as intriguing outernational oddities; African, Greek, Turkish, Arabic rhythms, and occasionally contemporary gypsy music.

Initiator of the first HipHop parties on Romania, Bogman also started and ran a HipHop show for Radio Nova 22, the first independent radio station in Bucharest. After stirring up the local scene, Bogman jumped the fence to New York as resident DJ for APt & Nublu. Nowadays, the all-around DJ programs for the Control Club, one of Bucharest’s distinguished alternative clubs.

Last but not leas, visuals will be provided by Etto Bubu: Computer games & interactive human things, devised by a human being, living and working in R’dam.
