Sweeping Promises
The Subpop duo Sweeping Promises will release their sophomore at the end of June, and that is definitely reason for a party. Their high-energy combination of powerpop and lo-fi garage is infectious and forces your feet to dance. Drawing light inspiration from early millennium alt-rock and edgy pop music, combined with a DEVO’esque weirdness, they know how to draw in the listener and never let them escape from their grasp.
Support: Venus Tropicaux
Rotterdam trio Venus Tropicaux is sometimes described as ‘pleasantly brutal’. That’s quite an understatement. Shelley Emily, Shalita Dietrich and Marrit Meinema produce playful noise punk that challenges.
This concert is organized by Rotown and V11 and has standing room only.
