Die Nerven
This pitch black post-punk/noise trinity from Germany made Left Of The Dial very unsafe back in 2018. Die Nerven means ‘the nerves’ and they have turned ‘getting on your nerves’ into a true art form. Take, for example, that chilling cover of Lana del Rey’s Summertime Sadness – renamed Sommerzeit, Schadness. Die Nerven’s records are also praised time and again by the major media of their home front – including the largest German newspaper De Spiegel.
The band has not gone unnoticed abroad either. For example, they are the first German-language band signed by Amphetamine Reptile Records – in the past the stable of soul mates such as The Jesus Lizard, Helmet and Brainiac – and John Bramwell of I AM KLOOT is also wax lyrical: “the best thing I’ve seen since The Pixies opened for My Bloody Valentine on their first tour in Britain.”
If you like a healthy dose of nihilism, noise and nail-biting tension, Die Nerven is a must for you!
