Kill Birds

Always special when a young gun can give the old legend a lightning bolt of inspiration. That’s what happened to Kills Birds: their song “Volcano” was a direct inspiration for Dave Grohl writing the Foo Fighters song “Cloudspotting”. Kim Gordon of Sonic Youth is also a big fan of this brand new neo-grunge/noise-punk sensation from Los Angeles.

The face of the band is Nina Ljeti, a Bosnian-Canadian filmmaker who has been called “L.A.’s most exciting new rock singer” by the Los Angeles Times. Kills Birds started out as a more singer-songwriter-oriented project between Ljeti and drummer Jacob Loeb that blew up into a formidable guitar band. The band signed to Royal Mountain Records, who also have Mac DeMarco, Bad Waitress, Alvvays, and Gustaf in the ranks. Pure eardrum-vibrating violence, strong hooks and mascara tears of the best kind.

Library Card

In the summer of 2021, Library Card was formed by friends from the close-knit Rotterdam music scene. Initially writing their first songs to the beats of a drum computer, Lot van Teylingen, Mitchell Quitz and Kat Kalkman were soon joined by Emre Karayalcin. Karayalçin’s intricate rhythms combined with the loud and volatile sounds created by Kalkman and Quitz, bring life to Van Teylingen’s impactful and emotional storytelling.
