On a rainy Sunday in May as we celebrated the opening of our terrace, the self described <\/span>\u2018<\/span>Rotterdam-based Duolingo inspired post-punk no-wave band for generation X & Y<\/span><\/i>\u2019 aka Venus Tropicaux<\/strong>, set up under the lighthouse and took the stage by storm. Despite the drizzle brought on by the local weather goddesses, the show went on, the sound was impressive and the little lighthouse showed its true potential as a spot to put on shows. On top of the recordings as part of this project, the trio have played multiple shows on the boat over the years, their compact sets packed with yelps and chants, powered by captivating energy. \u201c<\/span>We enjoy playing at V11, the staff and visitors are always nice and laid back. Playing up in the lighthouse was fun\u201d. After the show, we cruised through the boat with the multitalented Elmo to shoot some photos of the band. The images fall nothing short of a testament to the spirited charm of Venus Tropicaux.<\/span><\/p>\n
