V11 x Rotown presents: Rocket

The L.A.-based band Rocket didn’t choose their name by chance: it perfectly encapsulates the explosive energy of their sound. In their indie rock mixes with shoegaze, sharp guitars clash with mesmerizing vocals, while stripped-back verses slowly build tension before bursting into euphoric choruses—only to crash into hardcore-infused riffs. Their vibrant dynamic between ‘loud and soft’ is imbued with urgency, reminiscent of Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr., but reshaped into a sculptural form for the Gen Z era.

Their debut EP Versions of You (2023) feels like a time capsule, capturing the turbulent transition from late teens to early twenties. Now, in February 2025, they’re back with their new single Take Your Aim—languid, gritty, melancholic, and raw. What’s not to love?
