V11 x Rotown presents: Josephine Odhil + Marta Arpini
On Thursday 18 December we present the double bill Josephine Odhil and Marta Arpini in V11, two unique musicians with brand new albums.
Amsterdam-based Josephine Odhil combines music with visual art and creates an idiosyncratic universe full of gritty beats, disturbing soundscapes and whispering melodies. Inspired by literature, cinema and the dark corners of the human psyche, Odhil makes art pop with a surrealist slant — pop noir with an indie twist. After impressive performances at leading (inter)national festivals such as Lowlands, Transmusicales and Into The Great Wide Open with her former band The Mysterons, she is now steadily building a solo career. Her second solo album Monstera was released in April 2025.
Amsterdam-based Marta Arpini — singer, songwriter and composer of Italian descent — was originally trained as a jazz vocalist, but moves effortlessly in the domain of indie folk. There she interweaves vulnerability with a keen sense of melody and refined pop structures. Think of the melancholic elegance of Andy Shauf combined with the fragile intensity of Adrianne Lenker. Arpini has previously received praise for her work in jazz, including an Edison Award. She released her second album Tender Superpower earlier this year.
