V11 x BIRD presents: Löwenzahnhonig

Swiss instrumental band Löwenzahnhonig bring their new album Kirschblütenboogie to Rotterdam for an intimate show at V11. This concert takes place in collaboration with BIRD Rotterdam and is part of the band’s European tour.

Kirschblütenboogie, meaning Cherry Blossom Boogie, was written and recorded during a summer spent in a quiet barn, far from studios and city noise.

Surrounded by wooden beams, sunlight through the cracks, and a small collection of vintage instruments, the band shaped a sound built on space, patience, and atmosphere.

The album moves like a faded Super 8 film turned into music. Warm guitar lines drift through the songs, the bass moves steadily underneath, and the drums create landscapes instead of chasing tempo. The result is hypnotic instrumental music that gives every note room to breathe.

Listeners might hear echoes of artists such as Khruangbin, Tortoise, Yo La Tengo, or the cinematic slide guitar of Ry Cooder. Still, Löwenzahnhonig bring their own sound. Their music blends dreamy textures with quiet precision, a style the band describes as Alpine Zen surf.

Live, the music opens up even more. Songs stretch and shift, grooves settle into the room, and melodies unfold with calm control. Their concerts move between deep listening and gentle movement.
